Please Help Me Help My Family!!
Hi, my name is Rick McFadden and I have NEVER asked anyone for help like this. I am a hardworking man with a fairly large family, 7 kids and 4 grandchildren.
It has taken me a fair amount of time, well over a year, to finally find a job but unfortunately after working this job for about two months the engine in my '86 Astro Cargo van blew up after ''only" 300,000 miles on her. I obviously took very good care of this van in order to get the amount of mileage on it as it was my only form of transportation pertaining to work, as a commercial electrician by trade I kept any tool necessary to complete my job on my van. My Astro van wasn't the prettiest but it wasn't rusted out and it had never let me down!!
Regardless, now at the most inopportune time my always faithful van died and I now have no way financially to replace it. I live in Southern Lancaster County, Amish Country, in Pennsylvania and usually drive no less then an hour and twenty minutes one way to any given job site meaning I am usually up by 3:00 - 4:00 AM depending on my job location and out the door 45 minutes later.
We have no money saved as we live paycheck by paycheck like many others do and I was the only one working at this time so I figured I'd try this before I lost my hard to find job. I am just trying to get an inexpensive and hopefully reliable vehicle to carry my tools to and from my jobs and my research has given me the figure I am looking for to accomplish my end goal. I know I am asking a lot but please, if you are able to help, my family and I would appreciate ANY help possible. Thank You!!
Sometimes people fall into situations they have absolutely NO control over!! Trust me, if you truly knew me personally you'd know how much I HATE asking for anybody's help...... In response to a few messages that I received on FB, I have sold and/or pawned everything that I possibly could so unless you have the money to buy my Harley, which is for sale for $7,600 (FIRM), stop with the BS messages!!
UPDATE: 12/31/2012
I am still desperately trying to raise what is needed to get a vehicle on the road to get back to work. I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 that was "sold" to me for a small amount of cash when it becomes available plus I will need to do some work for the guy also. The truck still needs transmission repaired, battery, possibly a starter and also needs 4 tires. I have purchased the needed wood in order to put a wood flatbed on it since it had no bed when I got it with the $190 already donated, I will post pictures of the bed when completed. I am ONLY looking to get enough to get my truck on the road, about $2,300 should get the needed repairs, the transmission obviously being the most costly.
Thank you all again and PLEASE SHARE MY LINK so just maybe I can get a vehicle on the road and get back to working so I can take care of my family!!!
Please use the "DONATE" button below to donate.
